Ministry of SMEs and Startups, Announcement of Online Export Joint Logistics Project

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Oh Young-joo, hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of SMEs and Startups) announced that it will recruit companies to participate in the 2025 online export joint logistics project starting on the 9th.

The online export joint logistics business is a business that supports ▲regular discounts on logistics costs ▲fulfillment service fees, etc. to ease the burden of logistics costs for small and medium-sized enterprises that are exporting or planning to export through e-commerce.

First, for small and medium-sized enterprises with small export volumes, there was a difficulty in negotiating unit prices with logistics companies for individual parcel deliveries, which resulted in high logistics costs. Accordingly, the logistics cost permanent discount project is a system that supports the use of overseas delivery services at a logistics unit price that is 60% cheaper than the standard price of EMS (Post Office International Express) by consolidating a large number of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Next, the fulfillment support project is a program that opens the logistics warehouses of global distributors to participating small and medium-sized enterprises in the e-commerce process, and supports up to 70% of the overall costs, including the usage fees for local fulfillment services (Amazon FBA, Shopee SBS, etc.) specialized in global online shopping platforms, export customs clearance and declaration agency fees, up to a maximum of KRW 25 million per company.

These two projects are designed to alleviate the burden of logistics by focusing on the difficulties that small and medium-sized enterprises face in carrying out logistics costs and complex logistics processes when entering overseas markets. They have received a positive response from the field and are planning to support approximately 1,300 companies this year.

In fact, last year, Konivaerin Co., Ltd. (CEO: Lim Yirang) participated in this project and reduced logistics costs by about 76% compared to the annual EMS standard price, and received KRW 22.6 million in support for overseas fulfillment base usage fees through fulfillment support, thereby alleviating the burden of online logistics costs. As a result, Konivaerin Co., Ltd. was able to enter the export market more actively, and exports increased by about 3.6 times from USD 3.58 million in 2023 to USD 12.75 million in 2024.

Last year, the amount of exports supported through the online joint logistics support project was approximately 3.96 million, and they were available at a unit price that was discounted by an average of 83.4% compared to the regular EMS price (based on 10 major countries).

This year, we will focus on supporting export logistics centered on the US, China, and Japan, reflecting the export volume of small and medium-sized enterprises, and expand the stage-by-stage fulfillment support fund by dividing companies into beginner, promising, growing, and strong companies according to their sales volume.

Lee Soon-bae, Director of Global Growth Policy, said, “Due to recent tariff measures by the U.S., exporting SMEs are facing a lot of burden, and in particular, they are complaining a lot about the burden of logistics costs.” He added, “Through this project, we will actively support SMEs to overcome these difficult times.”
