Sendy Signs Business Agreement with Hyundai Motor Company

Hyundai Motor Company (Hyundai Motor Company) and domestic AI cargo transportation platform Sendy have joined forces to expand the eco-friendly logistics market. The two companies signed a business agreement (MOU) for the 'Establishment of an AI Transportation Platform Based on Hyundai Motor Company ST1' at Hyundai Motor Company's headquarters located on Gangnam-daero in Seoul on the 21st. Key executives from both companies, including Oh Ki-yong, Executive Director of Hyundai Motor Company's Domestic SV Business Division, and Yeom Sang-jun, CEO of Sendy, attended the signing ceremony.

This agreement is drawing attention as an important turning point that presents a next-generation transportation model that combines Hyundai Motor Company's advanced electrified business platform, 'ST1', and Sendy's AI-based transportation optimization technology, in line with the eco-friendly and digital transformation of the global logistics industry. According to the agreement, the two companies plan to cooperate in various areas, such as installing the Sendy Driver program in the IVI system of ST1 vehicles, technology linkage and optimization between the Sendy transportation platform and ST1 vehicles, improving sales stability and work convenience for drivers (freight transport drivers), expanding the B2C·B2B cargo transportation market, and promoting joint marketing.

Hyundai’s ST1 electrified business platform can travel up to 317km on a single charge and is specialized for urban cargo transport with its wide loading space and optimized weight distribution compared to its class. In addition, the ST1’s IVI (In-Vehicle Infotainment) system has features optimized for system integration with transportation platforms, such as vehicle status monitoring and easy linkage with external apps. Hyundai will provide technical support for loading Sendy’s driver program into the ST1 vehicle’s IVI system and provide technical information and APIs for seamless linkage between Sendy’s transportation platform and the ST1 vehicle. This will allow vehicle operation data and the transportation platform to be linked in real time, optimizing transportation efficiency.

Sendy uses its self-developed 'AI-based transportation optimization engine' to significantly reduce the tolerance of drivers and provide optimal transportation routes. Sendy's technology analyzes real-time traffic conditions, volume predictions, and individual vehicle operation patterns to increase drivers' profitability by up to 30%. When combined with ST1's low operating costs (charging costs, maintenance costs, etc.), it is expected to provide drivers with a more stable profit structure.

A Hyundai Motor Company official said, “This agreement is a meaningful collaboration that presents a new paradigm to the logistics market by combining an eco-friendly electrification business platform and an AI-based transportation optimization platform,” adding, “We will build an eco-friendly transportation ecosystem that simultaneously achieves the two goals of reducing carbon emissions and improving transportation efficiency.” Sendy CEO Yeom Sang-jun said, “We are pleased to be able to provide stable profits and a convenient transportation environment to drivers while realizing ESG values by building an eco-friendly logistics system through our collaboration with Hyundai Motor Company,” emphasizing, “We will lead the digital transformation and sustainable growth of the logistics industry by combining Sendy’s AI technology and Hyundai Motor Company’s advanced electrification business platform.”
