The Korea International Trade Association (KITA, Chairman Jinsik Yoon) held the 'Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 Debriefing' at COEX Startup Branch in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the 20th.

This event was designed to share innovative technologies and business strategies in the communications field, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and 6th generation mobile communications (6G), revealed at the event, with small and medium-sized export companies that were unable to attend MWC 2025 in person, and to support the establishment of new business strategies for companies. Approximately 100 people from the trade industry attended the event.

The debriefing on this day consisted of four sessions: ▲MWC 2025 Overview, ▲MWC 2025 Innovative Technology Debriefing, ▲Large Company Session, and ▲Unicorn Session. First, John Kim, Northeast Asia Representative of the GSMA, the organizer of MWC, introduced the major trends and key messages of this year’s MWC. Next, JoongAng Ilbo reporter Kim Nam-young shared innovative cases and prospects of the global communications industry that drew attention at the MWC site. In addition, representing global companies and startups participating in MWC, Vice President Lee Jun-ho of Huawei Korea and Strategy Director Kim Hye-jin of Rebellion, an AI semiconductor startup, introduced future communications technology and prospects for artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) convergence services.

The speakers focused on how innovative technologies that drew attention at MWC 2025, such as AI, 6G, smart factories, and extended reality (XR), will change the industrial landscape in the future. They also discussed ways for Korean companies to cooperate with global corporations that are pursuing digital transformation and sustainable innovation.

Park Joo-sik, director of AI startup 42Maru, who attended the event, said, “It was very helpful to be able to experience the core technologies and global trends discussed at MWC in one place,” and “In particular, being able to hear firsthand the latest trends in AI semiconductors and smart factories based on mobile communication networks was a great help in establishing future business strategies.”

Lee Myeong-ja, head of the overseas marketing division of the Korea International Trade Association, said, “MWC is an event that provides an overview of the global IT and communications industry trends for the next four years,” and added, “We will continue to actively support our companies by organizing debriefings of global innovation events such as France’s ‘VivaTech’ and Germany’s ‘IFA’ so that they can grasp the latest technology trends and increase their export competitiveness.”
