KGA, which is currently pursuing a merger with Samsung SPEC 9, is embarking on the development of a humanoid battery power system. KGA announced on the 10th that it signed a business agreement (MOU) for the development of an integrated battery for artificial intelligence (AI) humanoid robots with US companies Roboligent and Mobilobotics.
Roboligent, a robotics startup company in the U.S., is a company recognized for its high level of technology, receiving grants from the U.S. Department of Science and Technology and the U.S. Air Force. Through this collaboration, Roboligent plans to develop humanoid robots, design control systems, and develop system integration (SI) technology. It also plans to develop and commercialize the final product.
KGA will provide customized battery manufacturing equipment, supply positive and negative electrode plates, and provide technical support for the battery production process, while Mobilrobotics will be responsible for manufacturing and supporting structurally integrated batteries.
A KGA official said, “Unlike general robots, humanoids must perform a variety of tasks, so there are many factors to consider, such as customized battery design, weight reduction, and miniaturization.” He added, “Based on our technological prowess and experience in the battery field, we will work closely with the two companies to develop the next-generation battery optimized for humanoid battery power systems.”
He added, “Through this collaboration, we will take the lead in the humanoid battery power system market, which is expected to grow rapidly, and establish ourselves as a key member of the domestic and international humanoid industry ecosystem.”
KGA has a full lineup of electrode process equipment for manufacturing next-generation batteries, including all-solid-state batteries, and provides turnkey customized equipment from design to manufacturing and supply based on its unique custom engineering capabilities. It has secured the largest pool of global customers among domestic secondary battery equipment companies and is evaluated as a key partner for overseas secondary battery startups.
Meanwhile, according to the Financial Supervisory Service's electronic disclosure system, the securities report submitted by KG A on the 7th for the merger listing with Samsung SPAC No. 9 became effective.
