Naver D2SF has made a new investment in startup ‘Anchor Node (CEO Jaeho Won)’ , which is developing a game production solution based on generative AI. Anchor Node is a team comprised of veteran members with over 20 years of experience in the game industry, and possesses abundant experience and know-how in all aspects of game production, including producing, development, and artwork.
Anchornode's game production AI solution 'GameAIfy' automatically generates game artwork such as images, motions, and backgrounds using AI with only a character concept, thereby streamlining the game production process. Based on an AI model optimized for game artwork creation, it is a product that adds functions necessary for game production and collaboration such as artwork editing/sharing and history management.
Anchor Node has already collaborated with IP holders to produce and release four of its own games, achieving 1.25 million downloads and verifying product value and competitiveness. In terms of production efficiency, the game production period was shortened from 3 years to less than 1 year compared to the past, and production costs were reduced by approximately 95%. In addition, it received a favorable response from users by launching a new game title in just 2 weeks by only changing the artwork in the same design structure.
Based on these achievements, Anchornode's GameAIFI has been conducting CBT (Closed Beta Test) since February 25 and is discussing specific cooperation plans with famous domestic and foreign game developers and publishers. On March 17, they plan to participate in the GDC (Game Developers Conference) held in San Francisco and enter the global market.
Yang Sang-hwan, head of Naver D2SF Center, said, “Artwork is a costly and time-consuming task in the game production process, but AI has not been integrated into the game production workflow,” and “Anchor Node is a rare team that has a deep understanding of the game industry, and has optimized AI to quickly delve into the game production field and produce results.” He also stated his investment intention, saying, “In addition to games, we expect expandability as a virtual content production tool.”
Meanwhile, Naver D2SF has been accelerating startup discovery and investment by announcing four new investments in succession since 25 years ago. It is currently recruiting new investment teams through its website, and in April, it plans to start accepting applications for the 'Campus Technology Startup Contest', a customized growth program for college student startup teams.
