Chungbuk Creative Economy Center-Alpha Brothers, Investing in Gongdo

Gongdo, which operates the 'Engineering Library', a tech education content recommendation and AI-based student life record management service, announced on the 25th that it has completed attracting investment in the pre-A series. Chungbuk Creative Economy Center and Alpha Brothers, the organizers of the Chungbuk Startup Nomad Innovation Fund, participated in this investment round.

Gongdo recommends the best college entrance and career content for each goal for teachers and students, and provides a service that systematically manages students’ academic records for three years of high school by utilizing AI technology. In particular, Gongdo’s service is positioned as an innovative solution that complements the college entrance exam consulting services provided in the high-cost private education market and supports the digital transformation of public education.

This investment attraction is expected to play an important role for teachers and students in the current situation where 8 out of 10 students enter college through the regular admission process, as the AI-based life record management service provided by Gongdo. Through this, Gongdo will provide efficient support to students preparing for the regular admission process and help them develop customized strategies.

Cho Yeon-kyung, head of the venture investment team at Alpha Brothers, said, “Gongdo’s AI technology and self-produced educational content have sufficient potential to accelerate the digital transformation of the public education market,” and “Since 22% of high schools nationwide have already adopted Gongdo’s services, we expect even faster growth in the future.”

With this investment, Gongdo plans to expand the number of schools it serves from 528 to 840. To this end, it plans to release approximately 200 new engineering education contents reflecting the revised 2022 curriculum and add contents on promising industries such as ESG, healthcare, finance, and robotics. In addition, it plans to further enhance the AI-based life record management service and strengthen the functions of recommending customized content for students and providing information on extracurricular activities.

Song Yong-nam, CEO of Gongdo, said, “Based on this investment attraction, we will support all high school students in Korea to systematically prepare for college entrance exams by utilizing AI-based student record management services,” and “We will lead the K-edutech industry by expanding the educational content and entrance exam solutions verified in Korea to overseas markets.”
