Save the Children Eastern Regional Headquarters announced that it signed a business agreement with the Ulju County Public Daycare Center Association on February 20, 2024 to transfer the business model for ‘Creating a Safe Institution for Children.’
The main contents of this agreement are strengthening mutual cooperation in the project to create a safe institution for children, as well as transferring business models and establishing operating regulations. This project will be carried out for 20 kindergartens affiliated with the Ulju County Public Kindergarten Association.
The 'Creating Safe Institutions for Children' project provides education and consulting to prevent child safety accidents in child care facilities and establish an immediate reporting and response system in case of a dangerous situation. Save the Children has been operating this project since 2019.
Kim Chan-hee, the president of the Ulju County Public Daycare Center Association, said, “In order to reduce child safety accidents at daycare centers, not only teachers but also the association and the local community play an important role,” and added, “We will work to create a safe and healthy local community based on the ‘Creating Safe Institutions for Children’ business model.”
Jang Seong-jun, head of Save the Children’s Eastern Regional Headquarters, said, “We thank Ulju County Public Daycare Center for its efforts to respect children’s rights, and Save the Children will also work with them to establish institutional devices and systems to protect children’s safety.”
