Ministry of SMEs and Startups, Recruiting Participating Companies for Carbon Neutral Consulting and Equipment Package Support

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Oh Young-joo, hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of SMEs and Startups) and the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (Chairman Kang Seok-jin, hereinafter referred to as the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency) announced that they will recruit participating companies for the '2025 SME Carbon Neutral Facility Investment Support Project' from February 18 to March 10.

'Support for investment in carbon-neutral facilities for small and medium-sized enterprises' is a project that supports the introduction of energy-efficient or carbon-reducing facilities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and strengthen the response to global carbon regulations for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Any small and medium-sized enterprise under the 'Small and Medium Enterprise Basic Act' can apply, and companies exporting to countries considering introducing a carbon border tax and companies engaged in high-carbon-emitting industries such as primary metal manufacturing and metal processing product manufacturing will be given extra points when applying.

In this recruitment, target companies will be selected by dividing them into the 'Basic Track (approximately 75 companies)' for small and medium-sized enterprises that are beginning to practice carbon neutrality, and the 'Advanced Track (approximately 5 companies)' for companies that have been evaluated as 'Intermediate 1' or higher after participating in the carbon-neutral smart factory distribution project. Both tracks will support up to 300 million won in facility introduction costs per company, and the national subsidy rate will be within 50% for the Basic Track and within 70% for the Advanced Track.

In particular, this year, we will provide broader support by adding a list of carbon reduction facilities, such as equipment that uses low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants, and expanding the carbon-emitting support preferential industries, such as electrical equipment manufacturing and textile product manufacturing.

Meanwhile, the supply chain track, which provides support to partner companies within the supply chain, is scheduled to recruit separately in the first half of the year.
