Jeju Center, Local Creator Development Project Jeju Leading Organization Selected

Jeju Creative Economy Innovation Center (Director Lee Byeong-seon, hereinafter referred to as Jeju Center) announced on the 12th that it was finally selected as the main organization for the '2025 Local Creator Fostering Project' hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Small Business Market Promotion Agency.

The 'Local Creator Development Project' is a project that contributes to the revitalization of the local economy by grafting innovative ideas based on the unique characteristics and resources of the region. It supports various programs such as business start-up funding support, education/mentoring, networking, regional linkage programs, and support for linked projects.

This year, we will support 210 individual local creator teams and 24 collaborative teams nationwide. The Jeju Center will be in charge of the Jeju area and will support 28 individual teams and 3 collaborative teams. Selected companies will receive a business support fund of up to 40 million won for individual small business owners and up to 70 million won for collaborative teams.

Jeju Center has secured an annual budget of approximately 1 billion won through this selection as the main organization. This budget will be used to plan and operate a systematic business support program for local creators, and will focus on supporting the Lycon policy step by step in cooperation with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Small Business Market Promotion Agency.

A Jeju Center official said, “In 2025, we plan to discover and intensively foster small business owners who make good use of Jeju Island’s unique resources,” and “We will do our best to contribute to the revitalization of the local economy by fostering excellent small business owners in the region.”

Meanwhile, Jeju Center has been active as the main organization for fostering local creators in Jeju for 6 consecutive years. It has supported 127 local creator companies so far and produced the best local creators in the country for 2 consecutive years in 2023 and 2024.
