Dentis, new implant factory in full operation

Dentis Co., Ltd. (CEO Ki-bong Shim), an implant-based dental & medical solution company, has obtained GMP approval for its new implant factory completed last year and has begun full-scale operations.

The new Dentis Implant factory, which was completed in April of last year, has been undergoing final validation after completing the final maintenance including GMP inspection and facility relocation. After completion, the new factory passed the Installation-Operation Qualification (IQ-OQ) and the final validation stage, Performance Qualification (PQ), and began full-scale mass production early this year after verifying the quality safety and productivity of mass-produced products.

The new Dentis Implant factory is a smart clean factory that produces ultra-pure and ultra-precision clean implants using cutting-edge automated systems for processing, surface treatment, packaging, and logistics, with a building area of 5,525㎡ (1,671 pyeong) and a total floor area of 14,880㎡ (3,173 pyeong) on a site of 14,761㎡ (4,465 pyeong). In particular, the ‘Cube-ASRS’ (Cube Automated Storage and Retrieval System), which was introduced for the first time in Korea, reduced the warehouse area by a quarter and doubled work efficiency, maximizing productivity.

Through these manufacturing and logistics innovations, Dentis has achieved an annual implant production capacity of up to 10 million sets. Accordingly, it has been expanding the range of mass-produced products starting with some items since January, and announced that it will begin operating at full production capacity by the first half of this year to meet the demands of the global market.

With the new plant in operation, Dentis is further accelerating its entry into the global market. In addition to existing corporations in the US, China, Spain, and Portugal, Dentis established corporations in Malaysia and India last year, and plans to expand its global network by establishing new corporations in major markets other than Thailand and Vietnam this year. In addition, overseas certification procedures such as European CE certification, US FDA approval, Chinese NMPA, and Japanese PMDA are scheduled to be completed sequentially. Dentis plans to make this year the first year of increasing awareness in the global market and expanding market share.

In particular, Dentis, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, is planning to announce a groundbreaking future vision along with a global new growth strategy. It is confident of an upward growth trend by targeting the global market through an aggressive localization strategy through all-round growth of its three major businesses, including dental implants, transparent orthodontics, and operating room solutions, and increasing sales and improving profitability.

A Dentis official said, “The operation of Dentis’ new plant is not simply the launch of a new production line, but a signal for Dentis’ advancement into the global market and a turning point to establish itself as a global leader.” He added, “This year is a year of growth and innovation, and together with our overseas corporations and partners, we will demonstrate Dentis’ brand position as a global implant powerhouse.”
