Krafton Invests in Cashfree Payments

Krafton Inc. (CEO Chang-Han Kim) led the investment round of Indian fintech company ‘Cashfree Payments’.

Through this investment, Krafton plans to explore innovative solutions in the Indian gaming and digital industries together with Cashfree Payments. Cashfree Payments has raised a total of $53 million (approximately KRW 77.6 billion) in investment through this investment round.

Cashfree Payments is a leading fintech company in the Indian payments market, providing solutions to support corporate payment collection, payment processing, external payments, and one-click payments. Founded in 2015, it currently processes $80 billion in transactions annually and works with over 800,000 businesses. It is highly compatible with various e-commerce platforms and helps businesses start transacting within a day through a simple sign-up process.

Meanwhile, Krafton has been seeking business expansion opportunities by investing in the growth of the digital ecosystem in emerging markets including India since 2021. To date, it has invested $170 million (KRW 247.5 billion) in India's promising startup ecosystem. It has made various investments ranging from e-sports companies, game streaming platforms, web novel platforms, audio content platforms, social platforms, and game developers, and through this investment, it has secured a partner in the fintech field.
