Birdview (Respective Representatives Woong Lee and Kyungil Kim), which operates the beauty platform Hwahae, announced on the 31st that it will participate in the 'Panpandaero' duty-free shop entry support project for small and medium-sized beauty brands in cooperation with the Korea SMEs and Startups Distribution Agency, thereby expanding domestic and international distribution channels for K-beauty brands.
Panpandaero is a business that supports small and medium-sized beauty brands with excellent product capabilities to open stores in duty-free shops. Selected brands will receive various benefits, including ▲connections with large online and offline distribution networks ▲direct and indirect export opportunities, for up to two years. Since the 1st, Hwahae has supported the opening of 37 brands and a total of 139 products in the 'Panpan Duty Free Shop' located on the west side of Incheon International Airport Terminal 2.
Among these, some products selected by Hwahae are displayed separately in the ‘Hwahae Zone’, and products with high user review scores within the Hwahae app or products that have won Hwahae Awards are placed at the top. In addition, visual design (VMD) costs for each brand are supported to strengthen visual elements.
In particular, in line with the characteristics of airport duty-free shops visited by travelers from all over the world, we are accelerating the growth of small and medium-sized beauty brands based on the infrastructure that Hwahae possesses, such as installing product description signs written in foreign languages and attaching QR codes that connect to the global web so that various product information can be easily checked.
Meanwhile, Hwahae Zone plans to provide opportunities for competitive K-beauty brands to be continuously exposed by introducing various brands every quarter in the future. Participating brands are constantly recruiting on the website.
Kim Kyung-il, CEO of Birdview, said, “We have decided to support indie beauty brands that are having difficulties expanding their global sales channels through the Korea SMEs and Startups Distribution Center and duty-free shop entry,” adding, “We will continue to cooperate with government ministries to inform domestic and foreign consumers of the excellence of K-beauty and spare no support to strengthen its global influence.”
