HCity announced that it has won a contract for the development of a chemical, biological, radiological, and radiological reconnaissance vehicle-II depot maintenance elements worth 8.44 billion won (including VAT) from Hanwha Aerospace. This contract is equivalent to 10.3% of the company’s sales from last year, and the contract period is until June 30, 2027.
The Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Radiological Reconnaissance Vehicle-II is a special vehicle that detects and identifies chemical, biological, radioactive, and nuclear contamination situations. It was developed by Hanwha Aerospace and is currently being used by all military units. This maintenance component development project is a project to develop maintenance facilities, equipment, and user manuals so that the military can directly maintain the vehicle.
Once the project is completed, the Chemical, Biological, and Radiological Reconnaissance Vehicle-II will be reborn as a complete equipment with a maintenance package, which will allow the military to establish a rapid and efficient maintenance system without relying on external companies. By performing necessary maintenance immediately, the operational capability can be strengthened, and maintenance costs can be reduced in the long term through systematic equipment management.
HCity will utilize its expertise accumulated in the field of calibration services to lead the development of maintenance elements, and in particular, will contribute to the development of a calibration system for the maintenance of atmospheric environment measurement sensors and radiation measurement sensors, which are key components of chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear reconnaissance vehicles.
HCIT CEO Bongjae Heo said, “This order will be an important opportunity for our company to establish itself as a key partner in the defense industry,” and added, “Following the 8.2 billion won contract for the supply of calibration automation systems signed in 2023, this project has confirmed the sustainability of new businesses in the defense industry.” He continued, “By successfully completing this project, we will increase the stable operation and efficiency of K-defense products, while also contributing to strengthening competitiveness in the global market.”
