
Coupang announced on July 4 that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with the Korea Startup Forum (Korea Startup Forum) to foster a domestic artificial intelligence (AI) startup ecosystem.
This agreement signing ceremony was attended by officials from both organizations, including Kospo Vice President Gu Tae-eon and Coupang Executive Director Jeon Kyeong-soo, and through the agreement, both sides agreed to establish a joint cooperation system for the development of the AI industry.
The main contents of the agreement are ▲joint participation in government-led projects to create an AI ecosystem ▲provision of priority discounts on Coupang's 'Intelligent Cloud' to COSPO members ▲establishment of joint research and support for technology and solutions related to AI, etc.
Coupang plans to support the strengthening of startups' technology base through its AI computing service, 'Coupang Intelligent Cloud', and actively participate in the government's AI industry fostering project in the future.
Koo Tae-eon, Vice President of Cospo, said, “This agreement is an opportunity to lay the foundation for domestic AI startups to develop technology and grow more stably,” and added, “I hope that our cooperation with Coupang will lead to tangible results.”
Kim Seong-han, CEO of Coupang Intelligent Cloud, said, “Through our collaboration with Cospo, we will contribute to the revitalization of the domestic AI ecosystem and continue to support the growth of AI startups with global competitiveness.”
