Kyungkonjin, '2025 Uijeongbu Innovation City Startup Challenge' Participating Companies Recruitment

The Gyeonggi Content Promotion Agency (President Yong-seok Tak) announced that it will recruit participating companies for the '2025 Uijeongbu Innovation City Startup Challenge' in cooperation with Uijeongbu City until July 31.

This challenge is the first local government-led startup audition in the country, and it will be the third this year, starting in 2023. The key goal is to discover content-based projects applicable to Uijeongbu city administration and support technology proof-of-concept (PoC).

The recruitment target is a startup founded less than 7 years ago with a project at technology maturity level (TRL) 6 or higher, and can participate in not only content but also technology convergence manufacturing and service fields. The contest is divided into a 'free type' where startups directly propose tasks, and a 'designated type' where problems are solved by Uijeongbu City and its affiliated organizations. Designated tasks include digital convergence playgrounds, generation integration programs, mobile parking settlement systems, and worker safety management solutions.

The five companies that passed the preliminary round will receive support from experts and Uijeongbu City officials starting in August, including advanced technology verification plans, customized mentoring, and pitching consulting. A total of 40 million won in prize money will be awarded in the final round in November. The winning companies will also be provided with practical follow-up benefits, such as PoC execution funds, space for moving in, and additional points for related support projects.

An official from the Gyeonggi Content Promotion Agency said, “This program is characterized by providing opportunities for startup ideas to be applied to actual administrative services through the verification stage,” adding, “We expect it to contribute to activating the local startup ecosystem and solving urban problems.”
