Daeryun Law Firm Signs MOU with Gongshinyeon-International Detective Association

Daeryun Law Firm signed an MOU with the National Citizens' Coalition for Public Interest Corruption Reporting Movement (KCCI) and the International Federation of Detectives to strengthen the establishment of a public interest reporting and investigation legal support system.

The signing ceremony held on the 4th at the Seoul Public Interest Activity Support Center was attended by key executives including Daeryun CEO Kim Guk-il, Gongshinyeon Seoul Headquarters Director Kim Dal-moon, and International Detective Association President Na Yu-in.

The Public Corruption Investigation Association is a nationwide civic group that aims to monitor corruption in the public sector and promote public interest reporting. It is leading activities such as suggesting alternatives to social corruption, demanding information disclosure, and spreading public opinion to spread a culture of integrity. The International Association of Detectives is an international private investigation network that aims to establish an institutional foundation for the field of detectives and private investigations, foster professional manpower, and establish the legalization of investigative activities. It is leading the specialization of private investigations in various fields such as information gathering, fact-checking, and investigation of fraud, missing persons, and illegal activities.

With this agreement, each organization plans to pursue various tasks, including ▲establishing a system for legal support and reputation protection for public interest whistleblowers; ▲providing legal advice and review of results for reporting and investigating corruption; ▲interpreting laws and regulations related to private investigation activities and providing guides on legal activities; ▲jointly conducting ethics and compliance surveys for public institutions and local governments; ▲establishing a counseling system for protecting the socially disadvantaged and whistleblowers of illegal activities; and ▲holding joint seminars, forums, and workshops for public interest campaigns.

Na Yu-in, the president of the International Association of Detectives, said, “The detective field performs the function of supporting social justice by uncovering facts and truth,” and added, “Through collaboration with Daeryun, we will work together to increase institutional stability and social trust in the detective industry.”

Kim Dal-moon, head of the Public Interest Law Firm, said, “In order for citizen reports to lead to institutional changes, the cooperation of legal experts is essential, and this agreement will serve as the foundation for action toward the public interest.”

Daeryun CEO Kim Guk-il said, “Daeryun will become a practical supporter so that public interest reporting, private investigations, and civic activities are not hindered by legal restrictions,” adding, “I hope that this agreement will be a meaningful starting point as a practical solidarity model for realizing social justice.”
