Klook announced on the 10th that Lee Jun-ho, the CEO of Klook Korea, received the Korea Tourism Organization's 63rd Anniversary Commendation in recognition of his contributions to attracting more foreign tourists to Korea and globalizing the Korean tourism industry.
Since the establishment of Klook Korea in 2016, CEO Lee Jun-ho has been in charge of marketing and business development for domestic and international markets, and has led various product development and marketing activities. In particular, he has focused on solving transportation problems that foreign tourists have experienced when visiting Korea, and has improved convenience of movement and regional accessibility through providing transportation information, developing alternative transportation products, and digitally transforming product exposure and payment systems.
Since 2017, Klook has been collaborating with domestic travel and transportation industries and rental car companies to provide various transportation methods such as airport railroads, rental cars, and private car tours. It has also planned and developed shuttle bus and day tour products for difficult-to-access destinations such as Nami Island and ski resorts.
CEO Lee Jun-ho has been in charge of the express bus reservation service exclusively for foreigners since 2021, and has led the development of the system in cooperation with the National Express Bus Transport Association and T-money. The service, which was introduced in January last year, saw a 380% increase in reservations in the first quarter of this year compared to the same period last year, and in particular, reservations for routes outside of Seoul increased by about 280%.
In addition, reservations for KTX route tickets and regional tourist taxi products such as 'Private Taxi Tour', which were introduced last year, are steadily increasing, expanding the demand for regional travel. 'Private Taxi Tour' started in 6 regions last year and expanded to 18 regions this year, and the number of reservations in the first quarter increased by 45% compared to the previous quarter.
Lee Jun-ho, Klook Korea branch manager, said, “We will work to revitalize local tourism by supporting convenient transportation for foreign visitors.”
