Seoul Women's Family Foundation and Korea Women's Economic Association Sign Business Agreement

The Seoul Women and Family Foundation (CEO Park Jeong-sook) announced that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with the Seoul Chapter of the Korean Women Entrepreneurs Association (Chairperson Kim Young-soon) to address the low birth rate problem and create a corporate culture that promotes work-life balance.

This agreement was held at the Rose Hall of the Seoul Garden Hotel, and was attended by Seoul Women and Family Foundation CEO Park Jeong-sook, Korea Women’s Economic Association Seoul Chapter President Kim Young-soon, and other officials.

The agreement was created with the purpose of responding to the low birth rate problem and establishing a work-life balance culture in small and medium-sized enterprises to promote sustainable corporate growth. It is also significant in that it promotes effective policies centered on the field and encourages the voluntary spread of a culture through cooperation with women-owned businesses.

According to the agreement, the two organizations will cooperate in discovering and jointly promoting participating companies in the 'Small and Medium Enterprise Work-Life Balance Point System' promoted by the Seoul Women's Family Foundation, as well as in planning and operating joint projects to create a work-life balance corporate culture. In addition, they plan to expand the scope of cooperation in various ways, such as consulting for member companies on introducing a work-life balance system, disseminating best practices, expanding the participation of female entrepreneurs in management, and linking related policies.

The 'Seoul City SME Work-Life Balance Point System' is a system that provides various incentives to SMEs to create a child-rearing-friendly corporate culture and take the lead in achieving work-life balance as part of efforts to overcome the low birth rate problem.

The Seoul Women and Family Foundation has set 'realization of work-life balance corporate culture policy' as its core value and has focused on responding to the low birth rate and work-life balance policy. This agreement is evaluated as a strategic partnership that combines the leadership of female CEOs and the execution power of the corporate field with policy promotion, thereby simultaneously increasing institutional effectiveness and the possibility of field expansion.

Park Jeong-sook, CEO of the Seoul Women’s and Family Foundation, said, “This agreement is not a simple collaboration between organizations, but an important starting point for the Women Entrepreneurs Association to take the lead in establishing a work-life balance culture and practically responding to the low birth rate issue. The Seoul Women’s and Family Foundation will continue to work closely with businesses to support the sustainable growth of Seoul’s small and medium-sized enterprises and take the lead in creating a corporate culture of work-life balance.”
