Korea Institute for Gender Equality Education Promotion and Korea Education and Research Information Service Signs Business Agreement

The Korea Institute for Gender Equality Education Promotion and Promotion (President Kim Sam-hwa) under the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family announced on the 17th (Thursday) that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with the Korea Education and Research Information Service (President Jeong Je-young) to respond to digital sex crimes and cyber violence targeting children and adolescents.

The two organizations plan to cooperate on the following: ▴ service linkage to strengthen cyber violence prevention capabilities, ▴ mutual cooperation to create a safe digital environment and raise awareness, and ▴ mutual support for other joint development.

In accordance with this agreement, both organizations will strengthen the distribution of educational content by linking their cyber-violence and digital sex crime prevention education platforms, while continuously expanding joint tasks and policy cooperation to effectively respond to new social issues resulting from the digital transformation.

The Korea Education and Research Information Service is a public institution under the Ministry of Education that leads digital-based education innovation and educational informatization policies. It operates various projects such as education platform operation across primary, secondary, and higher education, education data analysis, and policy research.

Jeong Je-young, the president of the Korea Education and Research Information Service, said, “In the era of accelerating AI technology, it is very important to form a sound digital culture for not only youth but also all members of our society in a changing digital environment. In particular, the two organizations will continue to cooperate to raise awareness of cyberbullying prevention among our children and youth and create tangible results.”

Kim Sam-hwa, the president of the Korea Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education, said, “This agreement is an important milestone for improving digital citizenship awareness and violence prevention sensitivity among the public, including youth. Going forward, we will combine the capabilities of both organizations to contribute to the realization of a safe digital society.”
