LNF signed a business agreement with the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology, an affiliate of the National Research Council of Science and Technology, for the development of next-generation cathode materials.
This agreement was promoted as part of the 'Market-leading Next-generation Secondary Battery Innovation Strategy Research Group (K-BIC)' project hosted by the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology. The agreement signing ceremony was held at the headquarters of the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology in Daejeon on the 25th, and was attended by officials including L&F's Chief Production Officer (CPO) Jang Seong-gyun, Research Director Jeon Sang-hoon, and the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology's President Lee Young-gook and Director Kim Myeong-hwan.
According to the agreement, L&F will provide samples of major cathode materials such as high-nickel NCM, NMX, and LFP, and KRICT will be responsible for verifying and evaluating the performance of the cathode materials. The two parties will share their expertise through technology exchanges, and by combining L&F’s cathode material technology with KRICT’s material design and analysis infrastructure, they plan to strengthen L&F’s technological competitiveness in the next-generation cathode material market.
In the future, both sides will set specific research directions and build a continuous collaboration system. In particular, they will conduct cathode material performance analysis in conjunction with the chemical research institute's main research projects and global tasks, and it is expected that this will contribute to advancing the commercialization period of next-generation secondary batteries and strengthening the global competitiveness of the domestic battery ecosystem.
Jang Sung-kyun, CPO of L&F, said about this agreement, “The collaboration between advanced cathode material technology and the basic technology of chemical research will play an important role in leading the next-generation battery material market,” and “We will strengthen our ability to respond to global customers through continuous technological exchanges and joint research.”
