Domestic adult education content company DAY 1 COMPANY (CEO Kangmin Lee) announced on the 31st that it has acquired music content startup NOA.
NOA, a classical music-based music content startup, has been developing entertainment businesses in the film concert sector. It has demonstrated its content dissemination power through the YouTube channel "TOWMOO," which boasts approximately 800,000 subscribers. Leveraging its convergence content production capabilities, combining online and offline channels, NOA has continuously expanded its reach with the public. This has led to annual revenue growth of more than tenfold in just two years, from KRW 700 million in 2022 to KRW 4.5 billion in 2023 and KRW 7.1 billion in 2024.
NOA has actively engaged in performances through its own orchestra, the "NOA Orchestra." In addition to classical concerts, the company has planned and operated a variety of performances, including the "Movie Music OST Concert," and concerts featuring popular anime IPs like "Suzume no Kiseki," "Your Name," and "Weathering with You Makoto Shinkai Film Concert," attracting a cumulative audience of 140,000 people and generating 10 billion won in sales.
Through this acquisition, DayOne Company plans to expand its business from its existing education content-focused business to a comprehensive content provider and secure new growth engines. In particular, the company plans to leverage this acquisition as a strategic foundation for entering the global content market. Considering the relatively low linguistic and cultural barriers associated with the music and classical music genres, the company will enhance content scalability and sustainability, and explore potential integrations with its own education brands and commerce platforms.
NOA will operate as an independent division within DayOne Company and will pursue diverse business expansion, including expanding its own IP, enhancing content, managing artists, and entering the education and commerce businesses.
Lee Kang-min, CEO of Day One Company, said, “We aim to strengthen our competitiveness in the adult education content market while expanding our business into the general content market,” and added, “With the acquisition of NOA, we will secure competitive content IP in the global market and grow into a comprehensive content company that connects music, education, and commerce.”
