Domestic freelance platform company Kmong (Co-CEOs Park Hyeon-ho and Kim Tae-heon) announced on the 4th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea IT Service Industry Association (ITSA, Chairman Choi Hyeon-taek) to promote the supply of freelance-based IT manpower.
This agreement was pursued as a measure to address the workforce supply-demand imbalance within the systems integration (SI) industry and address the growing demand for AI experts. Recognizing the structural problem of over-reliance on personal networks to secure IT talent, a key factor in project success, both parties agreed to develop a cooperative plan to systematically improve this situation.
Through this agreement, Kmong will focus its collaboration on its B2B service, "Kmong Enterprise." This service operates a structured matching system, including: ▲ a workforce of over 10,000 IT freelancers ▲ a three-step verification process (reference check, document review, and phone interview) ▲ a three-fold increase in talent recommendations within three days ▲ dedicated manager assignments ▲ and post-project follow-up management. The service has successfully supplied approximately 300 IT professionals annually.
In particular, with a pool of over 800 AI experts, including data scientists and AI engineers, the company has the foundation to quickly respond to corporate AI transformation (AX) demands. Kmong believes this will allow it to transcend the limitations of the freelance labor market and make a tangible contribution to the digital transformation ecosystem.
Under the business agreement, ITSA members will be able to utilize Kmong's premium services at lower fees than before, and by quickly securing proven IT talent, they are expected to improve project stability and execution efficiency.
Kim Tae-heon, CEO of Kmong, said, “Kmong Enterprise has earned the trust of the market through its experience in matching personnel for numerous IT projects,” and added, “Through this agreement, we will support the association’s member companies to be free from personnel issues and focus on their original project performance.”
ITSA Chairman Choi Hyun-taek said, “We expect this collaboration to help our member companies address challenges related to human resource supply and demand. Especially at a time when securing AI talent is crucial, Kmong’s pool of expert talent will be of real help in strengthening the digital competitiveness of our member companies.”
