Law & Company Joins Five Elite Teams in the National Project "Independent AI Foundation Model"

Law & Company (CEO Bon-Hwan Kim) , a comprehensive legal tech company, announced on the 5th that it will participate in the Upstage Consortium, which was selected as one of the five final elite teams in the 'Independent AI Foundation Model' development project hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT.

The "Independent AI Foundation Model" project is a government-led initiative aimed at developing sovereign AI based on domestic technology. A total of 15 consortia applied, and five elite teams were selected through document and presentation evaluations.

The Upstage Consortium, which includes Law & Company, aims to apply AI to various industries, including law, manufacturing, and defense, through the development of a massive language model called "Solar WBL (World Best LLM)." The consortium, comprised of 13 organizations including Law & Company, aims to build a world-class, proprietary model and foster a sustainable domestic AI ecosystem.

Leveraging its expertise in AI development specialized in the legal field, Law & Company will participate in the development of industry-tailored solutions through legal AI technology validation and service model advancement. It will also contribute to model dissemination and the establishment of global standards, and play a role in creating technology-based social value.
