
The Jeju Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (CEO Lee Byeong-seon) announced on the 6th that it will host the "JOIN 2025" global entrepreneur networking conference at the Booyoung Hotel & Resort in Seogwipo on September 1, 2025. This event, held in conjunction with the 2025 APEC SME Ministerial Meeting, is hosted by the Jeju Center, the Center for Creative Economy and Innovation Council, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, with Kakao Corp. participating as a partner.
The conference will be attended by approximately 200 participants, including representatives from APEC member countries, domestic and international startups, investors, large corporations, and innovation organizations, who will discuss startup scale-up strategies and collaborative networks. Themed "Journey of Innovation," the event will consist of various themed zones, including main lectures, investor exchanges, exhibitions, and networking spaces.
Key programs include a startup ecosystem network forum, a local business forum, sessions promoting global expansion and open innovation, investor talks and investment IR sessions, and AI insight lectures. In particular, discussions will focus on regional startup ecosystem growth models, public-private partnerships, and policies to revitalize local businesses.
At the opening ceremony, startup-related organizations, including the Creative Economy Innovation Center Council, will sign a joint agreement to develop the local startup ecosystem. The global session will feature experts from the Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center and international experts from Japan, Hong Kong, and Indonesia, sharing examples of global cooperation and market entry strategies.
In the Open Innovation session, large and public enterprises will present collaborative cases. In the Insights session on the AI industry and startup trends, Upstage CEO Kim Seong-hoon will present strategies for entering the global AI market. In the Investor Talk session, domestic venture capitalists and KAIST Professor Choi Myung-jae will share investment trends and insights on deep tech investments.
Additionally, in the investment IR session, deep tech startups selected from each region across the country will take to the IR stage in conjunction with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' Startup-BuS program.
Lee Byeong-seon, CEO of the Jeju Creative Economy Innovation Center, said, “JOIN 2025 will be a crucial opportunity to develop Jeju into a global startup hub,” and added, “I expect it to be a networking opportunity that will connect various innovative ideas with the world.”
