AD System Co., Ltd. (CEO Jeong-ho Kim) , a drone specialist company, announced on the 8th that it has completed attracting Pre-A investment totaling 3 billion won.
This round of investment saw participation from numerous institutional investors, including UTC Investment, Daekyo Investment, IBK Industrial Bank of Korea, JB Investment, and Korea University Technology Holdings. Since its founding in 2019, AD System has been enhancing its market competitiveness by internalizing its technology, enabling it to independently perform all stages of design, manufacturing, and mass production.
In October 2024, the company secured a seed investment of approximately 300 million won from JB Ventures and secured a research and development foundation by being selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' technology startup support program 'Deep Tech TIPS'.
AD System has commercialized the AD-3000, a vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) UAV equipped with stealth capabilities, the first of its kind in Korea. Capable of flying for up to three hours, the AD-3000 is a model specialized for reconnaissance missions and is currently being supplied to domestic small and medium-sized enterprises and the Army. Building on this success, the company has also begun development of the AD-4000, a fully stealthy attack UAV. This model, with its minimal radar reflectivity and weapons-capable platform, is expected to contribute to future military bolstering.
A JB Ventures official said, “AD System has been attracting attention for its technological perfection and marketability since the seed investment stage,” and “As it has attracted investments from numerous institutional investors in the Pre-A round, its growth potential in the global market is also highly evaluated.”
AD System CEO Kim Jeong-ho stated, “With this Pre-A investment, we have verified both our technological prowess and business viability. We plan to accelerate our entry into the domestic and international markets by enhancing our R&D and production capabilities.”
