Sendbird (CEO Dongshin Kim), an AI agent-based communication platform company, announced on the 13th that it has signed a Strategic Collaboration Agreement (SCA) with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Through this collaboration, Sendbird plans to expand its AI agent capabilities by leveraging core technologies such as AWS's Amazon Bedrock platform and Amazon Nova AI models. Furthermore, Sendbird is participating as a launch partner in the newly launched "AI Agents and Tools" category within the AWS Marketplace, offering its AI agents through a digital catalog.
According to market research firm Gartner, agentic AI is expected to autonomously resolve approximately 80% of customer service inquiries by 2029. SendBird is meeting this expectation, handling over 7 billion conversations each month. This collaboration is expected to accelerate enterprises' adoption of agentic AI solutions that enable conversational automation, personalized interactions, and rapid problem resolution.
Sendbird has demonstrated AI-based communication innovation across various industries, including real estate, fintech, and retail. The domestic real estate platform "Peter Pan's Good Room Search" improved transaction security and work efficiency by introducing AI chat moderation. Philippine fintech company Maya reduced digital banking communication costs by 94% with AI messaging. Lotte Home Shopping leveraged AI to automate 40% of customer inquiries and establish a 24-hour customer support system.
Sendbird has been developing communication APIs and in-app messaging solutions for the past decade, currently serving over 4,000 applications worldwide. This agreement is expected to accelerate the development and deployment of AI agentic features, enabling businesses to more quickly adopt autonomous, intelligent customer support solutions that meet evolving consumer expectations.
“Agentic AI is a transformative technology that fundamentally changes the way we serve customers,” said Chris Casey, AWS APJ Partnership Director. “The combination of AWS and Sendbird will enable businesses around the world to significantly improve their customer experiences.”
