Digital Sovereignty: The Key to Safe AI Development
CEO Garman noted that while technological advancements occur within a global ecosystem, each country's data sovereignty and security requirements are also important. AWS applies the "sovereign-by-design" principle, which ensures customer data remains within designated regions.
This gives customers direct control over their data storage location, movement path, and encryption keys, and is designed to prevent even AWS from accessing customer data. CEO Garman emphasized that these security measures enhance the reliability of cloud-based AI development.
AI agents improve work efficiency
Regarding Agentic AI, he explained that it goes beyond simple automation to significantly enhance human work efficiency. CEO Garman cited a case where five people, using AI agent-based coding, completed a task previously requiring 18 months for 100 people in just 60 days, praising the technology's potential to significantly improve corporate productivity and the pace of innovation.
Additionally, AI agents are expected to be introduced in customized ways in various industries such as healthcare, finance, manufacturing, and retail, and AWS announced that it is strengthening the technical foundation to support agent development in a safe and scalable manner.
A global innovation ecosystem focused on partnerships
CEO Gammon explained that AWS is not pursuing innovation alone, but rather is continuing its strategy of expanding its ecosystem through collaboration with partners. He emphasized that the cloud plays a role in helping companies reduce repetitive tasks and focus on core innovation, and announced plans to foster a collaborative AI innovation ecosystem with partners, including SK Group.
AWS plans to continue to improve infrastructure efficiency and build an environment where AI can develop safely and transparently, thereby helping the Asia-Pacific region establish itself as a center of global AI innovation.
