AI 기술 기업 업스테이지는 글로벌 시장조사기관 CB인사이트(CB Insights)가 발표한 ‘2025 글로벌 AI 100대 기업(AI 100)’에 선정됐다고 28일 밝혔다.
CB인사이트는 매년 비상장 AI 기업을 대상으로 기술력, 사업 성과, 투자 유치 현황, 인력 구성 등 다양한 요소를 종합적으로 평가해 AI 산업을 선도할 100개 기업을 선정하고 있다. 올해로 9회를 맞은 ‘AI 100’은 ▲AI 인프라, ▲수평적 AI, ▲수직적 AI 등 세 부문으로 분류돼 발표됐다.
업스테이지는 이 가운데 ‘AI 인프라’ 부문에 선정됐다. 파운데이션 모델 개발 역량을 갖춘 기업으로는 국내에서 유일하며, 한국 LLM(대규모 언어모델) 개발 기업이 AI 100에 이름을 올린 것은 이번이 처음이다. 평가에는 업스테이지가 자체 개발한 광학문자인식(OCR) 기반 문서 처리 기술 ‘다큐먼트 파스’와 자체 LLM ‘솔라(SOLAR)’의 기술력이 반영됐다.
올해 선정된 100개 기업 중 미국 외 국가에 기반을 둔 기업은 13개국, 27개사에 불과하며, 업스테이지는 이 가운데 한국 대표로 포함됐다. 회사 측은 이번 선정을 통해 자사의 기술력과 글로벌 시장에서의 경쟁력을 입증한 것으로 보고 있다.
업스테이지는 향후 산업별 AI 전환을 가속화하고, 미국과 일본 법인을 중심으로 글로벌 사업 확장에 나설 계획이다. 이를 위해 파라미터를 확대한 차세대 ‘솔라’ 모델, ‘생각의 사슬(Chain of Thought)’ 기반 추론형 모델, OCR과 LLM이 결합된 멀티모달 모델 등 새로운 AI 제품의 공개를 앞두고 있다.

Upstage, CB Insights Selected as '2025 Global AI 100 Companies'
AI technology company Upstage announced on the 28th that it was selected as one of the '2025 Global AI 100 Companies (AI 100)' announced by global market research firm CB Insights.
CB Insights annually selects 100 companies that will lead the AI industry by comprehensively evaluating unlisted AI companies based on various factors such as technology, business performance, investment attraction status, and human resource composition. The 'AI 100', which is in its 9th year, was announced by dividing it into three categories: ▲AI infrastructure, ▲horizontal AI, and ▲vertical AI.
Upstage was selected in the 'AI Infrastructure' category among these. It is the only company in Korea with foundation model development capabilities, and this is the first time that a Korean LLM (large-scale language model) development company has been named to the AI 100. The evaluation reflected Upstage's self-developed optical character recognition (OCR)-based document processing technology 'Document Pass' and its own LLM 'SOLAR' technology.
Of the 100 companies selected this year, only 27 companies from 13 countries are based outside the United States, and Upstage is included as a representative of Korea. The company sees this selection as a demonstration of its technological prowess and competitiveness in the global market.
Upstage plans to accelerate the transition to AI by industry in the future and expand its global business centered on its US and Japanese corporations. To this end, it is preparing to release new AI products such as the next-generation 'Solar' model with expanded parameters, a 'Chain of Thought'-based inference model, and a multimodal model combining OCR and LLM.

AI技術企業のアップステージは、グローバル市場調査機関CBインサイト（CB Insights）が発表した「2025グローバルAI 100大企業（AI 100）」に選ばれたと28日明らかにした。
CBインサイトは毎年非上場AI企業を対象に技術力、事業成果、投資誘致現況、人材構成など多様な要素を総合的に評価し、AI産業を先導する100社を選定している。今年で9回を迎えた「AI 100」は、▲AIインフラ、▲水平的AI、▲垂直的AIなど3部門に分類され発表された。
アップステージはこの中で「AIインフラ」部門に選ばれた。ファンデーションモデル開発能力を備えた企業では国内で唯一であり、韓国LLM（大規模言語モデル）開発企業がAI 100に名前をあげたのは今回が初めてだ。評価には、アップステージが自社開発した光学文字認識（OCR）ベースの文書処理技術「ドキュメントパス」と独自LLM「ソーラー（SOLAR）」の技術力が反映された。
今年選ばれた100社のうち米国外国家に基づく企業は13カ国、27社に過ぎず、アップステージはこの中で韓国代表として含まれた。会社側は今回の選定を通じて自社の技術力とグローバル市場での競争力を立証したと見ている。
アップステージは今後産業別のAI転換を加速し、米国と日本法人を中心にグローバル事業拡大に乗り出す計画だ。このためにパラメータを拡大した次世代「ソーラー」モデル、「考えのチェーン(Chain of Thought)」ベースの推論型モデル、OCRとLLMが結合されたマルチモーダルモデルなど、新しいAI製品の公開を控えている。

人工智能科技公司Upstage 28日宣布，入选全球市场研究公司CB Insights公布的“2025年全球人工智能100强企业（AI 100）”之一。
CB Insights每年都会根据技术实力、经营业绩、招商情况、人力资源构成等多种因素，对未上市的AI企业进行综合评估，选出100家引领AI行业的企业。今年已是第九个年头的“AI 100”榜单，分为▲AI基础设施、▲水平AI、▲垂直AI三个类别公布。
Upstage 在其中的“AI 基础设施”类别中被选中。它是韩国唯一一家拥有基础模型开发能力的公司，这也是韩国LLM（大规模语言模型）开发公司首次入选AI 100。此次评估反映了 Upstage 自己的基于光学字符识别 (OCR) 的文档处理技术“Document Pass”及其自己的 LLM“SOLAR”。
在今年入选的100家公司中，只有来自13个国家的27家公司位于美国以外，而Upstage作为韩国的代表入选。该公司认为此次入选证明了其技术实力和在全球市场的竞争力。

La société de technologie d'IA Upstage a annoncé le 28 qu'elle avait été sélectionnée comme l'une des « 2025 Global AI 100 Companies (AI 100) » annoncées par le cabinet mondial d'études de marché CB Insights.
Chaque année, CB Insights évalue de manière exhaustive les sociétés d'IA non cotées en bourse en fonction de divers facteurs tels que les prouesses technologiques, les performances commerciales, le statut d'attraction des investissements et la composition des ressources humaines pour sélectionner 100 entreprises qui dirigeront l'industrie de l'IA. Le « AI 100 », qui en est maintenant à sa 9e année, a été annoncé dans trois catégories : ▲Infrastructure d'IA, ▲IA horizontale et ▲IA verticale.
Upstage a été sélectionné dans la catégorie « Infrastructure IA » parmi ceux-ci. C'est la seule entreprise en Corée dotée de capacités de développement de modèles de fondation, et c'est la première fois qu'une société coréenne de développement de LLM (modèle de langage à grande échelle) est incluse dans l'AI 100. L'évaluation a reflété la technologie de traitement de documents basée sur la reconnaissance optique de caractères (OCR) d'Upstage, « Document Pass », et son propre LLM « SOLAR ».
Parmi les 100 entreprises sélectionnées cette année, seules 27 entreprises de 13 pays sont basées en dehors des États-Unis, et Upstage est incluse en tant que représentant de la Corée. Upstage prévoit d'accélérer la transition vers l'IA dans chaque secteur à l'avenir et d'étendre ses activités mondiales centrées sur ses sociétés américaines et japonaises. À cette fin, nous sommes sur le point de lancer de nouveaux produits d'IA, notamment le modèle « Solar » de nouvelle génération avec des paramètres étendus, un modèle d'inférence basé sur la « chaîne de pensée » et un modèle multimodal combinant OCR et LLM.
