소풍커넥트가 CJ제일제당의 오픈 이노베이션 프로그램 ‘프론티어랩스(FRONTIER LABS) 5기’의 공동 주관사로 참여하며, 유망 식품·유통 스타트업을 대상으로 참여 기업 모집에 나선다고 밝혔다.
‘프론티어랩스’는 CJ제일제당이 유망 스타트업과의 협업을 통해 식품 및 유통 산업의 미래를 함께 만들어가고자 기획한 스타트업 육성 프로그램이다. 올해 5기에는 CJ제일제당을 비롯해 CJ인베스트먼트, 한국농업기술진흥원(농진원), 소풍커넥트가 공동으로 참여하며, 기술력과 사업성을 갖춘 초기 스타트업을 선발해 집중 지원할 예정이다.
모집 대상은 ▲지속가능 혁신소재 ▲제조·가공 혁신 및 패키징 기술 ▲디지털 유통·마케팅 플랫폼 ▲Emerging 식품 브랜드 등 CJ제일제당과 시너지를 낼 수 있는 분야의 스타트업이다. 모집은 5월 21일까지 진행되며, 접수는 소풍커넥트 홈페이지를 통해 가능하다.
선발된 기업은 초기 투자금 3억 원과 함께 CJ제일제당 사업부와의 협업 기회, 사업 실증(PoC) 기회, 전문가 멘토링, 최대 10억 원 규모의 후속 투자 검토 등 다양한 혜택을 받게 된다. CJ인베스트먼트는 전문 투자 심사역의 1:1 멘토링을 제공하고, 소풍커넥트는 체계적인 액셀러레이팅 프로그램을 통해 참여 기업의 사업 역량을 강화할 계획이다.
올해 처음으로 프론티어랩스에 합류한 소풍커넥트는 농식품 특화 액셀러레이팅 역량을 기반으로 지원을 강화할 예정이다. 소풍커넥트는 2020년부터 기관 및 기업과의 협력을 통해 63개 농식품 스타트업을 발굴·육성했으며, 해당 기업들의 누적 후속 투자 유치 금액은 총 465억 원에 달한다. 또한 인사, 마케팅, 특허, 해외 진출 등 스타트업 경영에 필요한 다양한 분야의 외부 전문가 풀을 보유하고 있어, 맞춤형 성장 지원이 가능하다는 점이 강점으로 평가된다.

Picnic Connect, Frontier Labs 5th batch participant recruitment
Picnic Connect announced that it will participate as a co-organizer of CJ CheilJedang's open innovation program 'FRONTIER LABS 5th' and will recruit participating companies targeting promising food and distribution startups.
'Frontier Labs' is a startup incubation program planned by CJ CheilJedang to create the future of the food and distribution industry together through collaboration with promising startups. The selected companies will receive various benefits, including an initial investment of 300 million won, collaboration opportunities with CJ CheilJedang business units, business verification (PoC) opportunities, expert mentoring, and follow-up investment review of up to 1 billion won. CJ Investment will provide 1:1 mentoring by professional investment reviewers, and Sopung Connect plans to strengthen the business capabilities of participating companies through a systematic acceleration program.
Sopung Connect, which joined Frontier Labs for the first time this year, plans to strengthen its support based on its specialized agricultural and food accelerating capabilities. Since 2020, Sopung Connect has discovered and fostered 63 agricultural and food startups through collaboration with institutions and companies, and the cumulative follow-up investment amount for these companies has reached a total of 46.5 billion won. In addition, it is evaluated as a strength that it has a pool of external experts in various fields necessary for startup management, such as human resources, marketing, patents, and overseas expansion, so it can provide customized growth support.
