데이터테크(Data Tech) 기업 빅밸류가 최근 50억 원 규모의 시리즈B 투자를 유치했다고 9일 밝혔다. 이번 투자로 빅밸류의 누적 투자액은 총 120억 원에 이른다.
시리즈B 라운드에는 신한벤처투자가 리드 투자사로 참여했으며, 에이치비인베스트먼트와 로이투자파트너스가 새롭게 참여했다. 시리즈A가 전략적 투자자(SI)를 중심으로 구성됐던 반면, 이번 라운드는 재무적 투자자(FI)를 중심으로 이뤄져, 빅밸류의 수익 기반 성장 가능성에 대한 시장의 신뢰가 반영된 것으로 해석된다.
신한금융그룹 계열의 신기술투자조합이 초기 투자자로 참여한 데 이어, 이번에는 그룹 내 벤처캐피탈인 신한벤처투자가 후속 투자자로 나섰다. 이는 빅밸류의 기술력과 사업 확장성에 대한 그룹 차원의 신뢰를 보여주는 사례로 평가된다.
빅밸류는 이번 투자금을 바탕으로 자사의 데이터 분석 플랫폼 고도화에 집중할 예정이다. 산업별 전문 데이터를 연결할 수 있는 온톨로지 체계를 강화하고, 전문가 네트워크를 기반으로 맞춤형 데이터 공급 시스템을 구축한다. 이를 통해 중소기업 및 소상공인 대상의 B2B 시장 확대를 본격 추진할 계획이다.
이번 투자를 주도한 박군호 신한벤처투자 이사는 “빅밸류는 다양한 산업에 적용 가능한 고도화된 데이터 서비스를 제공하고 있으며, 데이터 인프라 분야에서 국내 선도 기업으로 자리잡고 있다”며 “생성형 AI 시대에 데이터의 중요성이 더욱 부각되고 있는 만큼, 빅밸류의 역할이 더욱 확대될 것으로 기대된다”고 말했다.
빅밸류 구름 공동대표는 “이번 투자를 계기로 데이터 기반 AI 전환을 가속화할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다”며 “데이터 생태계에서 기술력과 시장성을 함께 인정받는 기업으로 지속 성장해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
