전남 화순 미생물실증지원센터(이하 센터)는 12일, 바이오기업 ㈜알펙스바이오와 mRNA 기반 의약품 개발을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 밝혔다. 이번 협약은 mRNA 원천기술을 활용한 파이프라인 개발 및 상업화를 목표로 양 기관 간 협력 체계를 구축하기 위해 마련됐다.
양 기관은 공동 연구개발 과제 기획·수행을 포함해, mRNA 기술 기반 백신과 치료제 개발을 위한 전방위 협력을 추진할 예정이다. 알펙스바이오는 mRNA 및 자가복제 RNA 원천기술을 바탕으로 공정 확립, 신규 플랫폼 개발, 국내 기업과의 협력 확대 등을 주요 과제로 설정하고 있다.
센터는 GMP(우수의약품제조관리기준) 기반의 mRNA 공정개발 및 제조 인프라를 바탕으로, 기술 자문과 제품 생산을 포함한 CDMO(위탁개발생산) 서비스를 제공할 계획이다. 특히 비임상 시료부터 국가 비상대응용 백신 생산까지 지원 가능한 전 주기 생산 시스템을 구축하고 있으며, 내년까지 mRNA 전용 제조시설과 프리필드시린지 라인까지 완비할 예정이다.
알펙스바이오는 RNA 백신 및 치료제 개발에 주력하는 바이오기업으로, 코로나19 mRNA 백신 개발 경험을 바탕으로 다양한 감염병 대응 파이프라인을 보유하고 있다. 자체 mRNA 플랫폼 기술과 RNA 바이러스 기반 백신 기술을 바탕으로, 비변형 핵산 활용을 통한 안전성과 효능 향상에 주력하고 있다.
센터 관계자는 “이번 협약은 공공기관과 민간기업 간 mRNA 기술 협력의 대표 사례로, 국내 바이오산업 경쟁력 강화와 백신·치료제의 국산화에 기여할 것으로 기대된다”고 밝혔다. 양 기관은 향후에도 지속적인 협력을 통해 기술 자립 기반의 바이오 생태계 구축에 나설 계획이다.

Microbial Verification Support Center Signs Business Agreement with AlpexBio
The Jeonnam Hwasun Microbial Validation Support Center (hereinafter referred to as the Center) announced on the 12th that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with bio company Alpexbio Co., Ltd. for the development of mRNA-based pharmaceuticals. This agreement was established to establish a cooperative system between the two organizations with the goal of developing and commercializing a pipeline using mRNA source technology.
The two organizations plan to pursue comprehensive cooperation for the development of vaccines and treatments based on mRNA technology, including planning and conducting joint research and development projects. AlpexBio is setting its main tasks as process establishment, new platform development, and expansion of cooperation with domestic companies based on mRNA and self-replicating RNA source technologies.
The center plans to provide CDMO (contract development and manufacturing organization) services, including technical consulting and product production, based on mRNA process development and manufacturing infrastructure based on GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice). In particular, it is building a full-cycle production system that can support everything from non-clinical samples to national emergency response vaccine production, and plans to complete mRNA-dedicated manufacturing facilities and prefilled syringe lines by next year.
AlpexBio is a bio company focusing on the development of RNA vaccines and therapeutics, and has a diverse pipeline of infectious disease response drugs based on its experience in developing COVID-19 mRNA vaccines. Based on its own mRNA platform technology and RNA virus-based vaccine technology, it is focusing on improving safety and efficacy through the use of unmodified nucleic acids.
A center official said, “This agreement is a representative example of mRNA technology cooperation between public institutions and private companies, and is expected to contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of the domestic bio industry and domestic production of vaccines and treatments.” The two organizations plan to continue their cooperation in the future to build a bio ecosystem based on technological independence.

Le Centre de soutien à la vérification microbienne signe un accord commercial avec AlpexBio
Le Centre de soutien à la validation microbienne de Jeonnam Hwasun (ci-après dénommé le Centre) a annoncé le 12 janvier la signature d'un protocole d'accord avec la société de biotechnologie Alpexbio Co., Ltd. pour le développement de produits pharmaceutiques à base d'ARNm. Cet accord vise à établir une coopération entre les deux organisations afin de développer et de commercialiser un pipeline utilisant la technologie de l'ARNm.
Les deux organisations prévoient de poursuivre une coopération globale pour le développement de vaccins et de traitements basés sur la technologie de l'ARNm, notamment en planifiant et en menant des projets conjoints de recherche et développement. AlpexBio se fixe comme principales missions la mise au point de procédés, le développement de nouvelles plateformes et l'élargissement de la coopération avec des entreprises nationales basées sur les technologies de sources d'ARNm et d'ARN autoréplicatif.
Le centre prévoit de fournir des services de CDMO (organisation de développement et de fabrication sous contrat), notamment du conseil technique et de la production de produits, basés sur le développement de procédés d'ARNm et une infrastructure de fabrication conforme aux BPF (Bonnes Pratiques de Fabrication). Il met notamment en place un système de production complet capable de prendre en charge tous les aspects, des échantillons non cliniques à la production nationale de vaccins d'urgence, et prévoit d'achever la construction d'installations de fabrication dédiées à l'ARNm et de lignes de seringues préremplies d'ici l'année prochaine.
AlpexBio est une société de biotechnologie spécialisée dans le développement de vaccins et de thérapies à ARN. Elle dispose d'un portefeuille diversifié de médicaments contre les maladies infectieuses, fruit de son expérience dans le développement de vaccins à ARNm contre la COVID-19. S'appuyant sur sa propre plateforme technologique d'ARNm et sur une technologie vaccinale à base de virus à ARN, elle s'attache à améliorer la sécurité et l'efficacité grâce à l'utilisation d'acides nucléiques non modifiés.
Un responsable du centre a déclaré : « Cet accord est un exemple représentatif de coopération technologique en matière d'ARNm entre les institutions publiques et les entreprises privées, et devrait contribuer à renforcer la compétitivité de l'industrie biologique nationale et la production nationale de vaccins et de traitements. » Les deux organisations prévoient de poursuivre leur coopération à l'avenir pour construire un écosystème biologique basé sur l'indépendance technologique.
