글로벌 초소형 위성 토탈 솔루션 기업 나라스페이스테크놀로지(이하 나라스페이스)가 22일 한국거래소 코스닥 상장 예비 심사를 통과했다고 밝혔다. 회사는 2025년 하반기 상장을 목표로 IPO 절차를 본격화하며, 주관사는 삼성증권이다.
나라스페이스는 초소형 위성 플랫폼 설계·개발, 위성 운용 솔루션, 위성 영상 판매 및 분석 서비스 등 초소형 위성 전 분야를 아우르는 국내 대표 기업이다. 2015년 설립 이후 축적된 제작 및 운용 경험과 기술력을 바탕으로 위성 영상 초해상화, AI 기반 데이터 분석 역량을 갖추고 있으며, 이를 활용해 재난·재해, 도시 관리, 환경 변화, 국방·안보, 농업 분석, 금융 모니터링 등 다양한 분야로 사업을 확장하고 있다.
초소형 위성 시장은 대형 위성 대비 제작 및 발사 비용과 기간을 크게 절감할 수 있어 수요가 급증하고 있으며, 센서 기술과 AI 분석 기술 발전으로 위성 영상 분석 서비스 시장도 빠르게 성장하고 있다.
나라스페이스는 2023년 11월 국내 최초로 25kg급 상용 초소형 위성 ‘Observer-1A’의 발사 및 교신에 성공하며 안정적 운용 능력을 입증했다. 이후 NASA 아르테미스 2호 임무에 탑재되는 큐브위성 ‘K-RadCube’ 개발, 한국항공우주연구원의 ‘우주검증위성(E3T)’ 프로젝트 참여 등 국내외 고난도 사업에 참여해 기술 신뢰성을 확보했다.
위성 영상 활용 분야에서는 한국항공우주연구원, 환경부 등과 재난 및 환경 모니터링 프로젝트를 수행했으며, 글로벌 보험사 협업 및 해외 고객사와 위성 영상 판매 계약을 통해 국제적 레퍼런스를 확보했다. 업계는 나라스페이스가 위성 제조(업스트림)뿐 아니라 영상 활용 및 데이터 서비스(다운스트림) 분야에서 모두 경쟁력을 갖추며 글로벌 시장에서 입지를 강화하고 있다고 평가한다.
나라스페이스는 기술력과 성장성을 인정받아 올해 중소벤처기업부 ‘딥테크 기업’으로 선정됐으며, 대통령이 참석한 ‘청년 창업 상상콘서트’에 초청돼 방산 분야 진출 가능성을 공유했다. 또한 세계경제포럼(WEF) ‘100대 테크놀로지 파이오니어’와 인도·태평양 경제 프레임워크(IPEF) ‘100대 기후테크 스타트업’ 명단에 국내 우주기업 중 유일하게 이름을 올리며 글로벌 위상을 강화했다.
삼성증권 관계자는 “나라스페이스는 국내 최초 상용 25kg급 초소형 위성 발사 및 운용 성공을 기반으로 수주 잔고가 크게 확대됐으며, 해외 고객사와 위성 영상 판매 계약을 성사시키며 글로벌 성장성을 입증했다”며 “이 같은 성과는 IPO 과정에서 투자자들의 긍정적인 평가로 이어질 것”이라고 말했다.
나라스페이스 박재필 대표는 “예비 심사 통과는 국내외에서 쌓은 위성 제작·운영 경험에 대한 신뢰의 결과”라며 “IPO를 통해 확보한 자금을 군집 위성 및 양산 체계 구축과 해외 진출 확대에 투입해 안정적 수익 구조와 글로벌 경쟁력을 강화하겠다”고 밝혔다.

A Samsung Securities official said, “Naraspace has significantly expanded its order backlog based on its success in launching and operating Korea’s first commercial 25kg-class microsatellite, and has proven its global growth potential by concluding a satellite image sales contract with an overseas client.” He added, “Such achievements will likely lead to positive evaluations from investors during the IPO process.”
NaRaSpace CEO Park Jae-pil stated, “Passing the preliminary screening is a result of trust in our domestic and international experience in satellite production and operation,” and added, “We will invest the funds secured through the IPO in building a constellation of satellites and a mass production system, as well as in expanding our overseas presence, to strengthen our stable profit structure and global competitiveness.”
