인공지능(AI) 전문기업 셀바스AI는 AI 에듀테크 기업 위버스마인드에 자사의 음성인식 솔루션 ‘SELVAS SR(Speech Recognition)’ API를 공급했다고 12일 밝혔다.
위버스마인드는 AI 기반 자기주도 학습 서비스 ‘뇌새김’을 운영 중이며, 최근 영어 회화 플랫폼, 교과서 기반 어휘 학습 등 에듀테크 분야에서 사업 영역을 확장하고 있다. 이번 공급된 음성인식 API는 공교육 전용 영어 학습 서비스인 ‘톡이즈 스쿨(Talkies School)’에 적용되어, 사용자 맞춤형 학습 환경 구현에 활용되고 있다.
SELVAS SR은 문장 단위 발음 평가에 특화된 음성인식 기술로, 사용자의 발음을 실시간으로 분석하고 정밀한 피드백을 제공하는 기능을 갖췄다. 기존에는 독립형 서버 기반으로 제공됐으나, API 형태로 전환되면서 별도의 서버 인프라 없이 다양한 플랫폼에 손쉽게 통합할 수 있게 됐다. 이에 따라 중소규모 교육 기업도 도입 부담을 줄이면서 관련 서비스를 활용할 수 있는 환경이 마련됐다.
최근 AI 기반 맞춤형 콘텐츠, 발음 교정, 회화 중심 언어 교육에 대한 수요가 증가하고 있으며, 정부가 추진 중인 AI 기반 디지털 교과서 도입과 공교육 내 AI 활용 확대 정책 등도 관련 기술의 수요 확대에 영향을 미치고 있다.
셀바스AI는 이번 API 공급을 계기로 교육용 음성인식 솔루션 시장에서의 입지를 강화할 계획이다. 윤재선 셀바스AI 음성인식사업 총괄은 “AI 기술과 콘텐츠 역량을 갖춘 위버스마인드와의 협력을 통해 정밀한 발음 교정 중심 영어 교육 솔루션을 제공하게 됐다”며 “향후 국내외 에듀테크 기업과의 협업을 지속적으로 확대해 나갈 것”이라고 밝혔다.

With this API supply, Selvas AI plans to strengthen its position in the educational voice recognition solution market.
