바이오·의료 창업지원 플랫폼인 서울바이오허브와 재단법인 한국혁신의약품컨소시엄(KIMCo, 대표 허경화)이 국내 바이오 스타트업의 오픈 이노베이션 촉진을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 밝혔다. 이번 협약을 통해 양 기관은 유망 바이오 창업기업의 발굴과 육성에 본격적으로 나설 계획이다.
이번 협약은 각 기관이 운영 중인 지원사업의 유기적 연계를 통해 기술 경쟁력을 갖춘 창업기업을 발굴하고, 바이오 산업 내 개방형 혁신(오픈 이노베이션) 생태계를 강화하는 데 목적이 있다.
특히 양 기관은 올해 ‘바이오 오픈 이노베이션 체인’ 공동 운영을 통해 스타트업과 대·중견 제약기업 간 공동연구 및 기술이전을 적극 추진할 예정이다. 해당 사업은 바이오 스타트업의 기술을 산업 현장과 연계하고, 기술 고도화와 글로벌 기술이전 가능성까지 고려한 협업 체계를 구축하는 것을 목표로 한다.
서울바이오허브는 지난 6월 ‘홍릉포럼’을 통해 본 사업의 출범을 알렸으며, 현재까지 동아ST, 에이비엘바이오, 올릭스, 지놈앤컴퍼니 등 다수의 중견 제약·바이오 기업과 대교인베스트먼트, 신한벤처투자, 아주IB투자 등 주요 벤처캐피탈이 참여를 확정했다. 오는 8월부터는 이들 기업의 기술 수요에 부합하는 창업기업 모집에 나설 계획이다.
선발된 기업은 서면평가 및 대면 파트너링을 거쳐 기술이전 또는 공동연구 가능성을 평가받게 되며, 이후 공동연구 협의, 기술 자문, 투자 연계 등 다양한 후속 지원이 제공될 예정이다.
서울바이오허브 김현우 단장은 “이번 협약은 유망 바이오 기술이 산업 현장과 직접 연결되는 실질적 성과 창출의 출발점”이라며 “KIMCo와 함께 창업기업의 기술 경쟁력을 강화할 수 있도록 지속 협력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
KIMCo 허경화 대표는 “이번 협력은 바이오 창업기업의 기술이 공동연구와 기술이전 단계를 거쳐 글로벌 사업화로 이어지는 기반이 될 것”이라며, “국내 바이오 생태계가 국제 경쟁력을 확보할 수 있도록 서울바이오허브와의 협력을 확대해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

Seoul Biohub Signs Business Agreement with Korea Innovative Pharmaceutical Consortium
Seoul Biohub , a bio-medical startup support platform, and the Korea Innovative Medicine Consortium (KIMCo, CEO Heo Kyung-hwa) announced that they signed a business agreement (MOU) to promote open innovation of domestic bio startups. Through this agreement, the two organizations plan to fully engage in the discovery and nurturing of promising bio startups.
The purpose of this agreement is to discover startups with technological competitiveness through organic linkage of support projects operated by each organization and to strengthen the open innovation ecosystem within the bio industry.
In particular, the two organizations plan to actively promote joint research and technology transfer between startups and large and medium-sized pharmaceutical companies through joint operation of the 'Bio Open Innovation Chain' this year. The project aims to link the technology of bio startups with industrial sites and establish a collaborative system that takes into account technological advancement and the possibility of global technology transfer.
Seoul Bio Hub announced the launch of this project through the 'Hongneung Forum' last June, and as of now, many mid-sized pharmaceutical and bio companies such as Dong-A ST, ABL Bio, Olix, Genome & Company, and major venture capitals such as Daekyo Investment, Shinhan Venture Investment, and Aju IB Investment have confirmed their participation. Starting in August, they plan to recruit startups that meet the technology needs of these companies.
The selected companies will undergo a written evaluation and face-to-face partnering to evaluate the possibility of technology transfer or joint research, and will then be provided with various follow-up support such as joint research consultation, technology consulting, and investment linkage.
Kim Hyun-woo, head of Seoul Bio Hub, said, “This agreement is the starting point for creating tangible results by directly connecting promising biotechnology with industrial sites,” and added, “We will continue to work with KIMCo to strengthen the technological competitiveness of startups.”
KIMCo CEO Kyung-Hwa Heo said, “This collaboration will serve as the foundation for bio start-ups’ technologies to move from joint research and technology transfer to global commercialization,” and added, “We will continue to expand our collaboration with Seoul Bio Hub to help the domestic bio ecosystem secure international competitiveness.”

ソウルバイオハブは去る6月「洪陵フォーラム」を通じて本事業の発足を知らせ、現在まで東亜ST、エビエルバイオ、オリックス、ジノン＆カンパニーなど多数の中堅製薬・バイオ企業と大橋インベストメント、新韓ベンチャー投資、非常IB投資など主要ベンチャーキャピタルが参加。来る8月からはこれら企業の技術需要に合致する創業企業募集に乗り出す計画だ。
選抜された企業は書面評価及び対面パートナーリングを経て技術移転又は共同研究の可能性が評価され、その後共同研究協議、技術諮問、投資連携など多様な後続支援が提供される予定だ。
ソウルバイオハブのキム・ヒョヌ団長は「今回の条約は、有望なバイオ技術が産業現場と直接つながる実質的な成果創出の出発点」とし「KIMCoとともに創業企業の技術競争力を強化できるよう、持続協力する」と明らかにした。
KIMCoホ・ギョンファ代表は「今回の協力はバイオ創業企業の技術が共同研究と技術移転段階を経てグローバル事業化につながる基盤になるだろう」とし、「国内バイオエコシステムが国際競争力を確保できるようにソウルバイオハブとの協力を拡大していく」と話した。

首尔生物中心与韩国创新制药联盟签署商业协议

Seoul Biohub , plateforme de soutien aux start-ups biomédicales, et le Korea Innovative Medicine Consortium (KIMCo, PDG : Heo Kyung-hwa) ont annoncé la signature d'un protocole d'accord commercial visant à promouvoir l'innovation ouverte des start-ups biomédicales nationales. Grâce à cet accord, les deux organisations entendent s'engager pleinement dans la découverte et le développement de start-ups biomédicales prometteuses.
L'objectif de cet accord est de découvrir des startups compétitives sur le plan technologique grâce à un maillage organique des projets de soutien opérés par chaque organisation et de renforcer l'écosystème d'innovation ouverte au sein de la bio-industrie.
Les deux organisations prévoient notamment de promouvoir activement la recherche conjointe et le transfert de technologie entre les start-ups et les grandes et moyennes entreprises pharmaceutiques grâce à la mise en œuvre conjointe de la « Bio Open Innovation Chain » cette année. Ce projet vise à relier la technologie des start-ups biotechnologiques aux sites industriels et à établir un système collaboratif tenant compte des avancées technologiques et des possibilités de transfert de technologie à l'échelle mondiale.
Le Seoul Bio Hub a annoncé le lancement de ce projet lors du « Hongneung Forum » en juin dernier. À ce jour, de nombreuses entreprises pharmaceutiques et biotechnologiques de taille moyenne, telles que Dong-A ST, ABL Bio, Olix et Genome & Company, ainsi que de grands fonds de capital-risque comme Daekyo Investment, Shinhan Venture Investment et Aju IB Investment, ont confirmé leur participation. Dès août, le projet prévoit de recruter des startups répondant à leurs besoins technologiques.
Les entreprises sélectionnées feront l'objet d'une évaluation écrite et d'un partenariat en face à face pour évaluer la possibilité d'un transfert de technologie ou d'une recherche conjointe, et bénéficieront ensuite de divers soutiens de suivi tels que des consultations de recherche conjointe, des conseils technologiques et des liens d'investissement.
Kim Hyun-woo, directeur du Seoul Bio Hub, a déclaré : « Cet accord est le point de départ pour créer des résultats tangibles en connectant directement les biotechnologies prometteuses aux sites industriels », et a ajouté : « Nous continuerons à travailler avec KIMCo pour renforcer la compétitivité technologique des startups. »
Kyung-Hwa Heo, PDG de KIMCo, a déclaré : « Cette collaboration servira de base aux technologies des start-ups bio pour passer de la recherche conjointe et du transfert de technologie à la commercialisation mondiale », et a ajouté : « Nous continuerons d'étendre notre collaboration avec Seoul Bio Hub pour aider l'écosystème bio national à assurer sa compétitivité internationale. »
