Startup specialized media Venture Square (CEO Myung Seung-eun) and the Korea Accelerator Association (KAIA, Chairman Jeon Hwa-seong) held the '2nd Launch Ceremony of the Startup Ecosystem Reporters' in Gangnam, Seoul on June 11, and officially selected and launched 18 new reporters who will record and shed light on the global startup scene.
The Startup Ecosystem Reporter Group started with the first group (18 people) at the end of last year, and has been expanding the group every six months, intensively producing interviews with startup figures, companies, and organizations, and on-site reports. This second group was selected through fierce competition among 100 applicants, and the number of people working in overseas bases such as France, Canada, and the United States has increased, further strengthening the global network.
The second group has expanded its activities by adding current employees, professors, college students, and prospective entrepreneurs from local areas, as well as international school students, to create a more multi-generational and regional activity. The reporters hold regular monthly meetings to complete startup trend seminars, article writing workshops, and expert lectures, thereby simultaneously strengthening their on-site reporting capabilities and networking. The activity period is until the end of this year.
Myung Seung-eun, CEO of Venture Square, said, “We will record the rapidly changing startup scene with vivid first-hand reports and build an information platform that all stakeholders can trust.” Jeon Hwa-seong, chairman of the Early Investment Accelerator Association, emphasized, “We will contribute to creating a healthy ecosystem by delivering diverse voices from the startup and investment scene in a balanced manner.”
Venture Square and the Association plan to sequentially publish the results of the press corps’ activities on major domestic and international media channels and Venture Square’s own platform, and at the end of the year, they plan to publish a collection of second-term activity cases and an in-depth report to provide insights to the policy and investment fields.
