Nuven, the startup behind O2O commerce platform Share@, has received a funding round from Funple Works but did not disclose the amount.

Share@ is an app which gives discounts on buying food and beverages at popular chain stores around Korea. Purchases are made from right within the app by setting up your card, with no need for other software or unusual security measures to be installed. The app launched in 2015 and now has over 3,500 stores listed, including a good range of venues in hot areas like Gangnam, Itaewon and Seoul University.

Menus and prices are included in the app, along with a map to the location. Users can find the closest spots using their location, or sort by popularity. Reviews can be read and left for each store, with related Instagram and Naver blog posts also displayed.

A spokesperson for Funple Works, a game-based O2O platform itself, says that it decided to invest in Nuven after seeing the positive reaction to Share@ in the local market and potential for further growth. Funple Works has also recently seen success with its own ‘Funple Cards’ which can be used in games, and available at 2000 internet cafes throughout the country.

“Through this strategic investment and partnership, we plan to look into connecting with gamers and internet cafes,” says Kim Chun Sik, CEO of Nuvent. “We’ll continue to increase the number of stores and plan to expand our service by working with other companies.”
