Jeju Pass gains patent for real-time price system

Jeju Pass is a rental car platform with a difference developed by Jeju BNF. Based on the island of Jejudo, the company has just received a patent for its real-time price model.

Travelers can use the Jeju Pass website and app to compare prices between different rental companies and get the best deals as prices change based on predicted demand. By hiring out vehicles that would otherwise be sitting unused at a cheaper price, companies can create new demand and make better use of their fleets.

In addition to its reservation platform, the startup is also involved in producing reports each month using big data. Jeju compiles information of use patterns and requests, as well as demand patterns and preferences, and intends to use this information to improve the rental ecosystem.

Not everyone likes dealing with salespeople, and the new service lets you compare prices from anywhere using Getcha’s smartphone app. Users can also ask questions to the bot to get information they need such as what documents are required.

Founded in 2015, Getcha is Korea’s leading app for purchasing new vehicles and has been growing at a rate of 40% per month. The company received Series A funding of 800 million won in August last year from The Square and Company.
