Lee Haejin and Kim Sangheon of Naver Resign, Vice President Han Seongsuk Selected as Trustee

Naver’s representative trustee has changed, after previous representative trustee Kim Sangheon transferred the position to vice president Han Seongsuk.

Naver chairman of the board of directors Lee Haejin will be retiring in March next year and the new chairman will be elected by the Naver board of directors.

Naver stated on the 20th that Kim Sangheon will not be re-elected, and Naver Service Manager and vice president Han Seongsuk will take over as representative trustee.

“After a meeting of the board of directors in March next year, the vice president x Han will be chosen as Naver representative trustee”.

If approved by the shareholders’ meeting held in March next year and the resolution of the board of directors, Han Seongsuk will eventually be selected as the representative trustee.

Naver service manager vice president Han Seongsuk will take over Kim Sangheon’s position, and she will join the network industry startup Empas as head of search. Han Seongsuk joined Naver in 2007, was responsible for Naver’s overall service, promoting the development of global services through V Live, and was responsible for small businesses and creators.

Naver Representative Trustee Kim Sangheon Resigns

Over the past eight years as representative of Naver, Kim Sangheon initiated the Han Game division, Line publication, and other major changes, maintaining the stability of the business. Kim Sangheon’s representative role will transfer to Han Seongsuk in March next year, and he will be involved in the company’s operations management in the future.

Lee Haejin, who founded Naver in 1996, will retire in March next year. He resigned from the representative position in 2004, and has served as chairman of the board of directors of Naver, making him a key person who led the publishing of Naver’s subsidiary mobile phone chat software Line in the United States and Japan in July.

Naver stated that Lee Haejin’s resignation is for “the development of the European and North American markets”.
